The Jim Thorpe House in Yale, which formerly belonged to the Oklahoma Olympic athlete, has been sold by the Oklahoma Historical Society.
According to the City of Yale, Thorpe, who bought the house in 1917, lived there until 1923.
The Oklahoma Historical Society has owned the site since 1968, however, funding dwindled and maintenance issues grew.
OHS and the Thorpe Family Foundation finalized paperwork on Friday, agreeing to sell the home to the foundation, who will now take charge in its care and preservation.
